Rachel A. Silvia has almost a decade of experience exclusively practicing family law.  Prior to joining Ryan Faenza Carey P.C., Rachel had a successful solo practice, handling a variety of matters in the areas of domestic relations, divorce and paternity/child custody. Rachel is dedicated and compassionate, taking a practical approach to her caseload. She effectively and efficiently evaluates and negotiates disputed issues in order to assist clients in obtaining equitable resolutions to their matters.  While Rachel regularly counsels her clients on the benefits of coming to negotiated agreements, she is a passionate advocate and litigator when necessary, regularly appearing in the Probate & Family Courts throughout Massachusetts.

Rachel is a court certified conciliator and regularly participates in the Norfolk County Bar Association’s Conciliation Program, where she assists parties in resolving complex financial issues, as well as contested custody, support and parenting time matters. In 2012, Rachel was the co-recipient of the Women’s Bar Foundation’s Family Law Volunteer Attorney Award due to her effective trial advocacy in a highly contested custody matter. Rachel is also LAR (Limited Assistance Representation) certified, which allows her to assist clients, in a tailored capacity, with various aspects of their cases, including attending court hearings, pretrial conferences and negotiating divorce agreements.

While in law school, Rachel interned with the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office Criminal Bureau in the Special Investigations and Narcotics Division where she participated in all aspects of trial preparation concerning multiple cases involving the Commonwealth.  Prior to graduating from law school, Rachel also worked as a paralegal at a Boston law firm. There she supported a team of attorneys from the initial stages of litigation all the way through appeal.

What Our Clients Say

I worked with Rachel Silvia through my divorce. Rachel was incredible. From start to finish through this very emotional process, she was professional, prompt in her replies, available, and exceptionally skilled and tactful at explaining the steps along the way to help me fully understand my options and the process as a whole. I highly recommend working with her and Ryan Faenza Carey as a firm.
